Three questions with which you can ignite the idea production of your employees
A manager from Hewlett-Packard is said to have chosen this form of communication after taking office. She invited each coworker to a 5 minute discussion with given questions.
These were:
- Who are you and what are you doing here at HP?
- Where do you think we should change and what should we focus on?
- What would you like to change beyond your job?
As the questions did not relate to daily business but to the bigger picture, the staff prepared well and used the short time to get rid of the most important suggestions.
The procedure is said to have been adopted by other HP managers afterwards. A good start in a new position – even if probably not everyone will have 170 employee reviews…
